Things to do in and around Victoria this December!
The days are getting shorter and our nights are getting longer. Winter is officially upon us. This Season is known to be one of the most stressful times of the year, and this year additional stressors are contributing to the Season. Following Social Distance guidelines while completing your Shopping, taking your family to visit Santa, and doing winter activities is difficult. Below are some of our suggestions to keep you safe but entertained!
1.) Zoom with Santa
Not to fear, your annual Santa visit can still happen! Even Santa has made changes to follow Provincial Guidelines. West shore Town Centre is offering the chance to visit Santa virtually one-on-one via Zoom! They are 5-minute sessions, offered at no cost now through to December 24th. Click here to find out more.
2.) Drive-by Victoria’s most decorated homes
From lights to projectors, we’ve got you covered. From Mill Bay to Oak Bay and beyond, climb into your car and take in some of the Christmas lights from the safety of your car! Click here to view the map of Victoria’s most decorated homes. The Map is updated daily.
3.) Take a walk in Sidney and vote for your favorite storefront
Sidney merchants are putting on a full display in their shop windows. The Sidney BIA is offering a prize for the best arrangements! Head over to Sidney, grab a warm drink, and vote for your favorite storefront here.
4.) Shop local online
You can still shop local this year! Craft fairs are still happening, just with a twist. While sitting in the comfort of your home, visit the 100 days of Christmas market online, and support some local businesses.
We need to keep our bubbles small this Winter. Stay close to home, spend time outside where you can keep your distance, support locals, and have a safe holiday season.
